Featuring legendary surfer WAYNE LYNCH on the boredom of competition, artist MATTHEW BRANNON on unlikability, longboarding Champion SCHUYLER McFERRAN on community building, gallerist LISA SPELLMAN on Chelsea in the Nineties, photographer JOHN LEHR looking at Fall light, the beauty of women's wetsuits by DAVID BRANDON GEETING, DEREK HYND on Far Field Free Friction, thoughts on FIN HISTORY by Mikey DeTemple, ASGER CARLSEN as shot by ADAM KREMER, and more, with intermittent distractions from the FLUXUS movement.

WAX is a bi-annual print publication exploring the intersection of art, culture and surfing in and around New York City. WAX believes that beauty and meaning can be found on sidewalks, boardwalks, skyscrapers and beaches alike. Interested in exploring the rich history of New York surfing, its beaches and residents and in finding a pathway of cultural creativity on and off the break. WAX shares the stories of area surfers who are also artists, designers, authors and auteurs. Each issue is organized around a unique theme, debuting with Issue #1: Dialogues in Spring 2012.
